Birds of a feather...
We're SUPPOSED to be a crow, flamingo and owl. Though not everyone agreed, I thought we looked fabulous!

October on the Horizon

I can't believe it's nearly October! My babies are growing up too fast. Crosby will be 2 years old in ten days and Gavin will be 6 months old in 2 days!!! How time flies... sigh. After a very hectic September, I'm hoping my favorite month, my dear October treats us well. I'll be celebrating so much this month for so many reasons. It's a magical time of year... I adore it!

Cloth Wipes

I've put a lot of thought into cloth wipes. Done a lot of window shopping. I didn't want to buy a bunch without knowing if I was really ready to make the switch. I was definitely ready to try them though not ready to commit to buying them! So like a genius I thought of those magic things already created for the purpose of wiping that are readily available... wash rags!!! Yes, I know, who'd have thunk it! So I went to the local big box mart and found 18 packs in summer/ independence day colors on clearance for $4 and got a couple of packages. They are 12 x 12 and quite soft. Added bonus, one pack had a few extra!! So I stripped them alone in the washer and dried them. I fold them in thirds like a letter and fold one end in and several fit in a huggies plastic wipe tub. Too many in fact. I make a simple wash solution from a few drops of baby wash or shampoo, few drops vit e oil or baby oil and hot filtered water til they are wet enough. The vit e will serve as a slight preservative but don't make too many at once or they'll get sour. You can mix the solution in a spray bottle and keep the wipes dry til use also. Anyhoo I'm not going back to disposables and will be buying some cloth wipes soon to add to my wash rags♥

Starting week TWO 100% back in CLOTH! Yea! I love it... Can't wait to get a few more so I can do laundry just a bit less!
Gavin is a pro tummy to back roller! He's been doing it a couple of weeks and is just thrilled with himself! Crosby is a naughty little guy! Hit the TERRIBLE TWOS a little early! They are both so adorable I can't stand it!

WOW!!!

I can't believe I let myself get so lazy with the diapers. At some point in the near past, Crosby started peeing through even the heaviest of cloth diapers that we have. We grabbed him some trash diapers, Jess was annoyed with the leaks. I was pregnant and we got super lazy and kept buying more trash dipes. I got tons of disposables at my baby shower, so, out of sheer exhaustion and the still quite active laziness, I've had Gavin in them too. Then we kept buying them. It's a mess. I've been getting the boys back into our cloth and have been saving for some new fluff. It's hard! I'm having to do the transfer all over again... What possessed me to use all those garbage dipes?!?!? If I think about how much we've been spending on them that we could have saved for cloth, it makes me sick. I hope I can get Jess to agree with me and get off the disposables again. Good Luck to myself!

Popsicles?... Dinosaurs!

I gave Crosby a Popsicle and got myself one also. He has never seen me eat one of his Popsicles before and freaked a bit saying "Mine!" I let him have mine also. I know, bad Mommy. He smiled at me and said "My Dinosaurs!"
